Success Story

Student Name: Arianna Medina
Institution: Boston University

In the summer of 2011, having completed her sophomore year of college, Arianna Medina spent the summer working in the lab of Dr. Peter Buston and Dr. Marian Wong, in the Department of Biology at Boston University. Research that summer focused on documenting the existence of consistent behavioral traits, a.k.a. personality traits, in clownfish (Wong et al. 2013. Journal of Fish Biology in press). In the following year, Arianna broadened her experience by participating in Boston University’s Ecuador Tropical Ecology Program, and developing a research project investigating the effect of changes in social context on the expression of personality traits in clownfish (Medina et al. in preparation). Arianna has recently been accepted to pursue a combined JD / Master of Environmental Management at Duke University.
